stayed with Lina Roxie Ann Moore’s family for six months. She slept with her granddaughter, Lina Roxie Moore’s (L5NH-TTW) family. I knew Lina Roxie as she helped pay for genealogical research. I asked her to tell me about my great-great grandmother Roxie Ann Moore. Here it is: “Granny stayed with us six months and she slept with me. She told me she always wore long dresses with long aprons. And that when she talked about her children who died, she would reach and grab the hem of her apron to wipe away her tears. She said that Jabe, her youngest, was never quite right but he did marry. Roxie dipped snuff since she was four years old. She made quilts for her grandchildren. She always told me stories about her family. And when we would go shopping she would say, “Shit, shit, shit.” She was a large woman, overweight and elegant. Grandpa John Lafayette Moore, drank too much and she thinks that he fell while drinking and died that way. He was nice looking but always very hard on the girls. The girls had a better relationship with their mother, Roxie. She told how her own father, Josiah Melton Daniell, had gone hunting with his black friend when they were about 10 or 11 and that Josiah’s gun had misfired and killed the boy. He never got over that. He had no relationship with his father, Josiah, only his mother, Louisa Marion Allen.”

My direct ancestor is Camilla Paranet Moore. Her mother was Roxie Ann Daniell Moore
