The first section tells about the Munn Clan originally known as Lamond, and why the clan system ended, which resulted in the Munns coming to America.
The second section tells about more Scottish history, and the oath the men had to take to come to America.
The third section tells about the Munns settling America and some great history on Duncan Munn’s father in North Carolina by Malcom Fowler, a renowned author. It also tells the story of one Munn who made threats to their minister because he defended the United States in one of his sermons. Munns were Torys.
The fourth section has some brief quotes by individuals who knew Bachelor Jim Munn. If you would like further information on him, please refer to Uncle George’s stories on the Munns which is enlightening and at times contradictory to the data proven by our genealogist.
The fifth section is an article that refers indirectly to some of our relations who lived in Mount Moriah.
The final section describes early Nevada County which is so important to the Munn family. This is the county most of the Munns settled, and one Dad talked about a lot.
