Children of James Thomas Munn
by Richard Munn
Robert
Robert Eugene was born on May 18, 1950. Mom was only 17. He got into everything and wanted to do everything Dad did, including working on the car and pumping gas. He put gas in the car, except it was the water hose, which he filled up to the top. Dad beat Bobby till Mom stopped him and told him to get out. He came back the next day and worked on the car all day. Bobby was smart and climbed up on to the counter and got the baby aspirin off the top of the refrigerator and chewed up the whole bottle. He told Mom his tummy hurt as he was still holding the bottle, she took him to the hospital where they pumped his stomach, I guess he had a death wish. He had stomach and swallowing problems the rest of his life. He loved detail and art so he excelled in drafting/mechanical drawing and got his degree in 1976. He worked for Arco for several years. He was always young at heart and enjoyed acting, dancing and singing. He was in numerous plays and musicals. He had a photography business for many years, doing weddings. He married in 1985 to Pamela Baker. He had Tiffany, Keri and Brian. He died at 45, in 1996, in a single car/van accident, having fallen asleep at the wheel at 1am, on I-5. Sadly, almost a year later, Pam died from the breast cancer she was fighting for the past 5 years. Their kids were raised by a half-brother and his wife. They are all grown and on their own.
Michael Steven was born on July 18, 1952. He was only a few months old when the great earthquake of 1952 hit. His bassinet fell over and he sustained a head injury. From that point on he always was hitting his head on something. Mike suffered from asthma at an early age and had to be homeschooled for a time. He looked like Dad’s side of the family as he had dark brown hair. He was always fixing things and got really good at making things with his hands. He married Beverly Morford (Divorced) in 1982 and had James and Andrew. He has had throat cancer and diabetes and is now disabled.
Russell
Russell Kevin was born on Nov. 21, 1953. He was always a big kid and loved to eat. He played basketball and football for East High. He was really good with his hands and like his Grandpa Yeomans he became a mechanic. He could just read the book on something and fix it like Wankle engines and diesels. He retired from a mining company in Arizona as a lead mechanic in 2018. He married Jeannie Taylor in 1975 and has Brady, Joshua, Shaun and Amy. He is retired and living in Kingman Arizona.
Richard
Richard Alan was born 13 months later on Dec. 17, 1954. Richey loved learning and reading. He became a book worm and added glasses in third grade that made him look smart. Extremely shy and backward he found a place in church and had really good examples to follow. He served an LDS mission to Nashville Tennessee in 1976-78 which was a turning point in his life. He worked really hard and followed a dream of being the first in his family to obtain a B.S. degree. He was like Bob and enjoyed music, singing, dancing and acting. He also became an athlete in basketball and cycling which he did for 47 years. All of which brought him out of his shyness. He was a Psych nurse for many years and a government employee. He married Melissa Kulju in 1981 and had Aaron and Matthew with step kids Jerry and Elisha. He has been in movies, commercials and film as a background actor as another goal accomplished. He also sang in the Utah Opera in 1997.
